What is find.ly?

find.ly is a quick and easy way for you to use the Facebook, LinkedIn or MySpace profile to get found for a job. We show only the professional info on your profile to protect your privacy. And, we automatically update your info as you change your profile.

Why should I use find.ly?

• find.ly is easy – it works with the profile you already have; you don’t have to create a resume or a new profile
• find.ly helps you put your best foot forward – we enable you to show only your work and school info to companies, not your photos or private info
• find.ly is always up to date – we don’t store a copy of your profile, we only keep a connection to it, so companies always see your latest info

How much does find.ly cost?

There’s no cost for people to use find.ly to connect with companies and share their info.

Where do I join find.ly?

find.ly is by invite only. To get an account, an employer must invite you to join. We’ll share a list of participating employers soon.

Do I need a resume to use find.ly?

Nope. You don’t need a resume, just a Facebook, LinkedIn or MySpace profile.

What if I don’t have a Facebook, LinkedIn or MySpace profile?

In order to use find.ly, you need a profile on a website we work with. As of today, we’re working with Facebook, LinkedIn and MySpace. If there’s a social website you’d like us to work with, please tell us about it by clicking on the ‘Feedback’ tab that you see when you’re using find.ly.

Do you work with Google, Yahoo!, Plaxo, Xing, etc.?

We’d like to, but we don’t yet. If there’s a social website you’d like us to work with, please tell us about it by clicking on the ‘Feedback’ tab that you see when you’re using find.ly.

Can I connect more than one profile?

Sorry, it’s one profile per person today. We’ll be looking into how your preview can include more of your profile info and content in the future.

What happens if I delete my connected profile?

If you delete the profile you connected on find.ly, companies who use find.ly won’t be able to find you.

What does connecting with a company mean?

When you connect with a company, registered recruiters from that company can find you. If you’re not connected, they can’t find you on find.ly.

Can my boss, ex, mom or anyone else find me on find.ly?

Well, that depends. If they’re a registered recruiter from a company you’ve connected with, they can. If not, they can’t.

Do you tell anyone that I’m on find.ly?

Nope. We don’t tell anyone. You can decide not to tell anyone that you’re on find.ly and just be contacted by recruiters as they find you. Telling anyone else is up to you – you can share your find.ly ‘me’ link with anyone you like however you share links (by Twitter, email, instant message, etc.).

What will a company see if they find me on find.ly?

Companies will only see your About Me, Education and Work Experience. They won’t see your photos, links or other shares. If you ever want to preview what you look like on find.ly, just click the link in your welcome email.

What will a company do if they find me?

Companies search find.ly every day. When they do, they look for people who fit their current job openings. If they think you fit, they’ll send you an email through find.ly with more information.

What happens when I update my profile on Facebook, LinkedIn or MySpace?

find.ly doesn’t store your info, so it never gets stale. Whenever you update your info on a website you’ve connected, we show it to the companies you’ve connected with.

I’ve connected to a company, what do I have to do next?

Once you connect with a company, we send you an email with a link to see what they see. Have a look at it and add work experience or education to your profile to put your best foot forward.

Is my information safe?

Yes. We take every precaution to protect your info and don’t store any of your profile data. And, we never ask you for your username or password for any website.

What if I’m having problems signing in?

If you try to sign in with your social profile and see the message ‘You don’t appear to have a find.ly account. You can’t sign up here’, then you don’t have a find.ly account with that particular social profile. If you are sure that you already have a find.ly account, you can try signing in with another of your social profiles (Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace). If you are seeing a ‘not in a sharing mood’ screen when you try to sign in, then you may need to go back to the company you connected with, and connect again.

What browsers does find.ly support?

You need to use a modern web browser to get the best experience on find.ly. We recommend that you update your browser to its latest version.

I need help enabling JavaScript in order to use find.ly

You can find instructions for enabling JavaScript on your browser here: http://enable-javascript.com/ (provided for Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Opera. If your browser isn’t listed, please consult its help resources).

What if I don’t like find.ly?

You’re in control with find.ly. find.ly’s job is to safely share parts of your social profile with employer you want to work with, so they can find you for jobs.

find.ly only shares your work experience and education information from your social profile.

You use find.ly so you do not not need to be friends with recruiters or have anyone see your social activity. find.ly make it safe to use your social profile as your resume.

If you do not want employers to find you for jobs on find.ly anymore, simply REMOVE the find.ly application from your social network’s list of Approved Applications.

Once you do this, find.ly will no longer be able to see your profile information to show it to employers. This method of removing access is for your protection, so that you have ultimate control over who accesses your information.

Do people need to connect with my company to join my Talent Hive?

Yes, and they can join your company’s Hive in a couple of clicks. find.ly doesn’t require them to ‘friend’ individual recruiters, create new profiles, fill out redundant information, upload resumes, fill in an application, or even publicly ‘like’ your company.

How do I upload my existing contacts to find.ly?

On your find.ly Home page, click the ‘Invite Email Contacts’ button. You then need to upload a CSV format file with the email address and first name for each of your contacts. These must be column-titled as follows, and in this order: EMAIL, FIRST NAME.

How can I let people know about my Talent Hive?

find.ly gives you links you can share anywhere – on Facebook, Twitter, your own website, in an email… We give you graphical widgets you can use on web pages, too.

Will anyone else have access to people in my Talent Hive?

No. It’s your Hive, and people who join it are searchable by your company’s authorized users only.

How do I find the right people in my Talent Hive?

find.ly gives you powerful search tools to uncover the right people for opportunities. We give you a variety of easy ways to find the people you want.

What will my recruiters see when they search my Talent Hive?

Your recruiters will see people we found that fit their search. They can click through the search results to see the person’s current profile information. Your recruiters will only see a person’s About Me, Education and Work Experience. They won’t see photos, links or other shares.

What can I do if I find an interesting person?

Your recruiters can contact people directly from our website. They have the power to customize their message to each individual person they contact.

How do I keep people interested and involved in my company?

find.ly enables you to communicate with groups in your Talent Hive. You can even use this info with your Customer Relationship Management application to communicate with people broadly and keep them interested and involved in your company.

What happens if people update their profiles on Facebook/LinkedIn/MySpace?

find.ly doesn’t store profiles, so they never get stale. Whenever people update their info on Facebook, LinkedIn or MySpace, we show you their current profile.

Is my company’s information safe?

Yes. We take every precaution to protect your company’s private data by storing the minimal information necessary and applying appropriate security measures.

What if I’m having problems signing in?

How do I set up MailChimp on find.ly?

To send engaging emails to all or some of your Talent Hive, find.ly has integrated MailChimp – the easiest and richest email campaigning tool around!. Here is what you need to do. Go to www.mailchimp.com and set up your free account for your company. Go to the LISTS section and CREATE A LIST named ‘find.ly’ (it’s very important to call the list name: find.ly). Complete the information on the LIST page in MailChimp. You can leave the ‘Default Subject’ blank. Close MailChimp – that’s it, you’re set up!
